A former eighth grade teacher who found that the arts had a stronger
calling than a classroom and began writing to fulfill the need for a
comprehensive multicultural curriculum, initiating the programs in
the form of teachers workshops, storytelling and lectures.
I am
delighted to pass the torch to those who are willing to take up the
fire in the journey of life by lighting the way for others along the
trail.

Black History Month
"Did you know that each
carefully hand sewn piece of a quilt, thrown casually across an
outdoor railing or hung as though to dry on a line outside, was a
silent message, was a map of directions and told the escaping slaves
where they could go safely for food and water?"
